Group 1 Travel

Many of you have expressed your desire to see an improvement in how we book our travel.  Effective immediately, you may go directly to the airline, hotel and rental car websites for booking your travel – please discontinue using Navigant, Expedia or any other travel agency.   As part of the Purchasing initiatives, we are looking for opportunities where we can save Group 1 money and provide good service to our employees.   It is important that you follow the guidance provided.   We believe these changes will accomplish that effort.

Group 1 Travel & Entertainment Policy

AIRLINES

The following are the links to the preferred airlines at this time:

  • Southwest Airlines – this will require a little effort on your part to start but the interface is much simplier!
    • To encourage travel via Southwest – they have agreed to:
      • No transaction, change or cancellation fess.
    • DO NOT USE southwest.com – you must go to Group 1 Automotive’s dedicated webpage:
      • SwaBiz
      • Click on “login” in the upper right hand corner
      • Enter our Company ID# 99717796
      • Enter/Create your own Account # and password

  • Continental Airlines  (www.continental.com/web/en-US/default.aspx?POS=US)
  • American Airlines (www.aa.com/)
    • When booking your AA flight, at this time you will need to do this for each reservation –
      • Select your preferred flights as usual.
      • Passenger Details screen – Business ExtrAA Account Number – enter 776235
    • You will continue to earn and retain your own mileage.

RENTAL CARS

The following are the preferred companies which will require you to add our account # to your web profiles.  TRAVEL TIP: When online select “lowest rate” versus “Corporate Rate” on either site – thist will typically result in lower rates.

  • Avis (www.avis.com) Avis is on average 20% less than Hertz in most locations.
    • Add the following AWD# U027763 to your personal profile
    • Add Garmin GPS to your profile if preferred
